FIELD NOTES
A shore worth waiting for
The first rock emerges in about 15 seconds. You can rest at low tide and explore at your own pace.
A SMALL WORLD BETWEEN TIDES

YOUR COASTAL NOTEBOOK
A small shore is waiting. Begin whenever you like.
This is an idealized semidiurnal tide: roughly 12 hours 25 minutes between high waters, compressed into two minutes. Real shores may have different tidal patterns. Day and night are illustrative, not a local forecast.
These are original, simplified drawings of Pacific rocky-shore life. Observe real tide pools gently; leave animals where they are. Learning notes are based on NOAA and National Park Service resources.
